YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K Kicks Off Mother's Day Weekend

River Crossing YMCA hosted over 475 racers on Saturday, May 10 at the 2025 YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run. As part of the historic Bucks 5K Series, the YMCA 5K celebrates the health and wellness of the community, featuring runners, joggers and walkers from age five through 75.
More than 475 runners traversed the picturesque scenery of Doylestown, finishing at War Memorial Stadium at Central Bucks West High School. The event featured entertainment before, during and after the race, including DJ BatDan and live music by Ryan Shubert. Nearly 40 families participated in the 1-mile Fun Run directly on the stadium track.
Race finishers received a commemorative 2025 race medal and flowers to celebrate Mother’s Day. Participants were also invited to a post-race party for a free slice of pizza at Villa Capri in downtown Doylestown.
“The YMCA thanks all of the families and athletes who came out on this bright and sunny morning to celebrate the wellness of our community,” said Nicole Bandura, director of this year’s YMCA 5K. “It is a privilege to be part of the Bucks 5K Series and this year we had more racers than I can remember in recent history. I’m so grateful for the hard work of River Crossing YMCA staff and volunteers who made today’s race a success.”
