Leadership at River Crossing YMCA

Under the leadership of Zane Moore, the separate YMCAs from Lower, Central and Upper Bucks County, Lehigh County and Northampton County in Pennsylvania and Hunterdon County in New Jersey were merged ultimately forming River Crossing YMCA. This new association, comprising eleven membership branches, twelve child care centers and two outdoor camp facilities, serves over 100,000 community members and provides millions of dollars in charitable community benefit annually.  

With a background in national leadership and business ownership in the for-profit fitness industry, Moore started his Y career in 2005 at Somerset Hills YMCA where he was the Chief Operating Officer until 2011 when he joined then Central Bucks Family YMCA as President/CEO. He serves in numerous roles and on active committees within the national Y movement, and formerly served as the Chair of the Pennsylvania State Alliance of YMCAs. Moore is a graduate of West Chester University, receiving the Distinguished Alumni award in 2021. He resides in Bucks County, PA with his family.

Virginia Doyle has worked with our YMCA for over 30 years and has been actively involved in capital expansion projects and the merger of Lower, Central, Upper Bucks County, Lehigh County and Northampton County in PA and Hunterdon County in NJ. Doyle leads the PA State Alliance of YMCA’s Finance Cohort and frequently guides Ys in areas related to financial sustainability and resource management. Her education includes an undergraduate degree in Finance, a Master of Science in Taxation and an MBA in Accounting. Doyle has also managed accounting for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Head Start in New Jersey and the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. She has been honored with accounting and business awards in the greater Philadelphia area. She resides in Yardley, PA with her husband John.

Trish Feinthel joined the Y movement in 1997 in aquatics at Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA advancing to Senior Program Director, followed by The Gateway Family YMCA as an Associate Branch Executive. Feinthel served as Aquatics Chair for NJ State Alliance as well as Recognition Chair for Chapter 17, YPN. While at The Gateway Family YMCA, she also served as lead for the Y-USA National Health and Wellness Gulick Collaborative. Joining River Crossing YMCA in 2011, Feinthel drives a member-focused culture, aligning programs, services, facilities and practices county-wide and leading excellence in operations through empowering and educating staff while protecting members through strong, proven risk management practices. She holds the highest certification as a Y-USA Organizational Leader, is a Listen First Trainer and has delivered thousands of trainings both locally and nationally regarding staff culture and member service. She currently serves as a Service Delivery Partner in membership for Y-USA. Trish is a graduate of Rutgers University and resides in Hunterdon County, NJ with her husband and family. 

Fran Cardaci joined River Crossing YMCA’s executive leadership team in July of 2023. Prior to becoming an employee, Fran held several volunteer leadership roles for YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties, including Chief Volunteer Officer of the Association Board of Directors, Chair of the Trustees, and Chair of the Governance Committee. Cardaci has worked in the Human Resources industry for 25+ years, holding HR and senior leadership positions at Givaudan, RCM Technologies, ADP and Oracle. She was responsible for the Retention, Advocacy and Growth initiatives for these firms’ largest and most invested clients in the HR and Healthcare technology spaces. Fran has spoken at many HR industry-related events and has had the opportunity to lead large-scale strategic HR initiatives. Most recently, she has been recognized with ADP’s Global Women’s Role Model award, YMCA of the USA’s Women of Excellence award and locally with the Lois Burpee Service award. Fran resides in Bucks County, PA with her family. 

Debbie Sontupe brings nearly 30 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, board development, communications and nonprofit management in both the nonprofit and higher education sectors to her role. Sontupe is also the President of Match Nonprofit Consulting and has worked with YMCAs across the United States in all aspects of financial development. Previously, she has held leadership positions at Mercy College in NY, Rutgers University, and YMCAs in NJ, including Vice President of Development and Marketing for the Somerset Hills YMCA. She has managed very large campaigns including a $1 billion comprehensive campaign initiative for Rutgers. Sontupe earned her bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and holds a Master of Education from the Graduate School of Education, Rutgers University. She resides in Morristown, NJ with her husband Dan and their children, Justin and Sarah.

Amanda Wappes has over 30 years of marketing and communications experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Her work includes developing strategic marketing plans and promotions, market positioning, branding, communications, public relations, and media management to both regional and international organizations. She has spent the past 18 years working within the YMCA movement in a variety of marketing and fundraising roles, joining River Crossing YMCA in 2015. Wappes is the staff lead for the organization's volunteer Marketing & Communications Committee, serves as the Membership Chair of the YMCA CMO Executive Committee and is a Service Delivery Partner in the area of marketing and communications for Y-USA. She formerly co-led the PA State Alliance of YMCA’s Marketing Cohort. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Widener University and resides in Montgomery County, PA with her family. 

Debbie Tettemer has been with our YMCA since 2011, serving as Zane’s assistant since 2013. For 8 years, she served as the Conference Coordinator for the YMCA Region 1 CEO Conference working with the committee of Y CEOs from across the northeast. Tettemer has served in administrative support roles with Central Bucks School District, American Express, United Airlines and local real estate companies to name a few. She resides in Bucks County, PA with her family.

Danielle Cioffi is the Senior Vice President of Operations for the Bucks County Region of River Crossing YMCA. She also serves as the leader of the association’s summer camp programs. Danielle first joined the Y movement in 2009 and joined River Crossing YMCA in 2018.

Danielle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health & Fitness Management from Concordia University and a Master of Science in Sports Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Danielle grew up as a “Y Kid” and loves that she is now able to support her community as a Y professional. She resides in Solebury with her husband and their two sons.

After growing up at the Doylestown YMCA through youth and teen programs, Maddy Moore began her Y career as a camp counselor. Her passion for youth development and the Y mission led her to become Director of Sports and Teens at the Doylestown Y. She now proudly serves as Branch Executive of the Central Region.

Maddy holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Springfield College and a BA in English from West Chester University, where she played on the Women’s Volleyball Team. She resides in Doylestown, PA and is excited to continue growing her career at the YMCA.

Andrew Yannarella has served the Y since summer, 2008 when he began as a sports intern in the Central Bucks Region. At the Doylestown branch, he was quickly hired and worked his way up through leadership positions serving youth and adult sports leagues and programs. In 2022, he transitioned to the Lower Region as Vice President of Operations and now hold that role in our Upper Bucks Region. Andrew has a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from York College of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Delaware Valley University.

Ali DeRosa’s YMCA journey began at age 12 as a Y camper. She graduated from Kutztown University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and began her YMCA career as an intern. Since then, Ali has held a variety of leadership roles, with a focus on membership and creating positive experiences for members. She is passionate about providing high-quality service, building meaningful relationships and helping others feel welcomed, valued and connected to the Y. Ali is proud to have spent much of her life as part of the YMCA community, as a camper, employee and leader. She lives in Bucks County with her family and enjoys spending time with them.

Janine Brown’s YMCA journey began as a teenager when she was hired as a gymnastics instructor. She graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has held several roles throughout her YMCA career, always focused on bringing the Y’s culture and mission to members and program participants. Passionate about helping shape the youth of her community, Janine also oversees the gymnastics program at the Quakertown Branch. In 2026, she became Branch Director of the Quakertown Branch. With deep personal and professional ties to the Y, including her children’s involvement in YMCA programs, Janine is committed to making the Y feel like a second home for everyone.

Carol Garretson spent 40 years working for the government as a training instructor. After retiring, she joined Highpoint Racquet Club, where she enjoyed being part of the gym environment and interacting with members. Just before Highpoint closed, the Y reached out with opportunities at the Doylestown and Warminster branches. After touring both locations, Carol knew Warminster was the right fit. In June 2022, Carol became a YMCA Membership Engagement Representative. For Carol, the Y is about much more than a gym. It is about helping members and making a difference in the community. She takes pride in building relationships, supporting others and being part of an organization that makes a positive impact every day.

Joey Milillo, Branch Director, Doylestown, has grown up through the Y and was inspired to build a career with the organization after experiencing the positive impact of its staff and members. His Y journey began in 2019 as a camp counselor, and he has since worked across multiple departments, including Membership, Youth Development, Fitness and Aquatics.

These experiences have strengthened Joey’s passion for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child, family and member feels valued and at home. He strives to provide exceptional service, build meaningful connections and create positive experiences that reflect the Y’s mission and make a lasting impact on the local community.
 

Alex Gatto began his YMCA journey in 2016 as a Sports Camp Counselor at our Doylestown branch. He worked with the Y as a sports instructor & summer camp counselor throughout the next 6 years. After two internships with the YMCA and graduating from Kutztown University with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Alex joined the Y as a full-time employee at our Fairless Hills location.

He has held many roles in Sports & Play before most recently moving into a Branch Director role in July of 2026. Alex's passion is in developing and executing quality programs and member experiences. He is excited to continue to make impactful memories for all members and participants who walk through our doors.

William “Bill” Jones began his career with Prudential Insurance after graduating from William Tennent High School in 1974. During his 37-year career, he advanced from Computer Clerk to Manager of Information Systems before retiring in 2013. After moving to Florida, Bill returned to Pennsylvania in 2016 to be closer to family. He joined the Newtown YMCA in 2021 as a Sunday Membership Clerk and was promoted to Membership Specialist in 2022, helping lead the Newtown Branch. In 2026, he became Branch Director. Bill is proud to be part of the Y’s mission and appreciates the strong connections he has built with members, staff and the Newtown community.

Kristin Heimall is a lifelong Hunterdon County resident whose YMCA journey began more than 30 years ago as a college intern. Since then, she has built a career spanning camp, child care, aquatics, family programming, youth development, marketing and operations. As Vice President of Operations for the Hunterdon Region of River Crossing YMCA, Kristin works with branch, preschool, school-age child care and camp teams to strengthen programs, develop staff and expand the Y’s impact throughout Hunterdon County. She holds a B.A. in Recreation Management from Davis & Elkins College. Kristin lives in Califon with her husband, whom she met at the Y, and enjoys time with her three grandchildren.
 

Pam Gardinsky has over 20 years of customer service experience and studied Management and Marketing. She began her YMCA career as a part-time fitness instructor in 2013 and quickly fell in love with the Y movement and its mission. As a Hunterdon County native, Pam is deeply connected to the community. Her children attended the Child Learning Center in Annandale, NJ, and her entire family enjoys being part of the Y. Pam’s passion for serving others, building connections and supporting her community has continued throughout her career, making the YMCA a meaningful part of both her professional and personal life.

Ryan Hazelett is the Senior Vice President of Child Development for River Crossing YMCA, overseeing all early learning and before- and after-school programs. With more than 15 years of experience in the field, Ryan began his Y journey in 2010 as an after-school and camp counselor and has since held various leadership roles.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Leadership, as well as an MBA in Organizational Management. A 2024 graduate of the YMCA PA State Alliance Keystone Leadership Academy, Ryan lives in Bucks County with his wife, Ashley, and their two children.

Andrea Brown began her Y career in 2013 as a group fitness instructor, driven by her passion for wellness and helping others. She now serves as Vice President of Business Development and Growth at River Crossing YMCA. Andrea holds certifications from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, is a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, and has multiple specialty certifications in movement, nutrition, and mental health. She earned her BSBA in Marketing from The College of New Jersey. Andrea lives in Lower Bucks County with her husband and two boys, promoting healthy habits at home.
 

Frank Barlow is the Senior VP of Facilities and Risk Management at River Crossing YMCA, bringing 35 years of experience in the YMCA movement. He has served in various roles, including MIS Director and COO of the Hunterdon County YMCA, and now oversees facility teams and capital projects. Frank is actively involved in community organizations and nonprofit boards. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish from Rider University and the YMCA Organizational Leader certification. Having grown up in the YMCA, Frank is passionate about its mission and values and is grateful to support its community impact.

Tim Ryan is the VP of Aquatics & Swim Team of River Crossing YMCA, leading branch operations and ensuring a high-quality member experience. He joined the organization in 2014 as Director of Competitive Aquatics at the Doylestown branch. Tim holds a B.S. in Sports Management and Business Management from Springfield College and brings deep expertise in youth development through competitive swimming. He holds multiple certifications in the sport and takes pride in supporting student-athletes’ growth both in and out of the pool.

Allyson Fox has spent more than 20 years as a dedicated YMCA professional. As Senior Vice President of Membership Engagement, she oversees association-wide membership operations for River Crossing YMCA. Allyson played a key role in unifying systems during the association’s merger and led the launch of the Call Center in 2020 to enhance service and support for members. She is committed to aligning membership operations across the organization to deliver exceptional service to all members, program participants, and guests. Allyson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Shippensburg University and maintains her Multi-Team and Branch Leader Certification through Y-USA. She resides in the area with her husband and two daughters.
 

Crystal Messer began her YMCA career in 2007 as Assistant Childcare Director at the Bethlehem YMCA. She has held various leadership roles across the Greater Valley YMCA, including Branch Director and VP of Childcare. Crystal has been instrumental in expanding youth development programs, including Pre-K Counts and Infant Toddler Contracted Slots, to improve early childhood education. She holds a degree in Elementary Education with a math concentration from York College of Pennsylvania. Originally from New Jersey, Crystal has lived in the Lehigh Valley since 2007 with her husband and two sons.

Melissa Brown brings over 30 years of YMCA experience in the Lehigh Valley, known for building strong community partnerships and leading cross-functional teams with clear communication and purpose. As the Praesidium Guardian for the region, she plays a key role in upholding safety and accountability through risk management. Melissa actively volunteers and serves on several community committees, reflecting her deep commitment to service. She balances her professional dedication with a love of music and values time spent with her children. Her positive spirit and passion for community make her a respected leader and advocate for the YMCA’s mission.

Tiffany Henning brings over 28 years of dedicated experience to the YMCA, beginning her career at the Allentown Branch in 1998. Throughout her tenure, she has held a variety of leadership roles in aquatics, membership, and program development. After 19 years in Allentown, Tiffany became the Branch Executive Director of the Bethlehem Branch in 2018. She now proudly leads both the Allentown and Bethlehem Branches. Tiffany holds a Bachelor's Degree from DeSales University and remains committed to the YMCA's mission of strengthening community through youth development and healthy living. She resides in the Lehigh Valley with her son, Aiden.

Kevon Allen is an accomplished leader dedicated to youth development, community engagement, and promoting health and wellness. A graduate of West Chester University, Kevon began his YMCA journey as an exercise technician, where he developed a strong foundation in supporting healthy lifestyles. He now serves as the Branch Director of the Easton YMCA, where he leads operations and champions programs that empower youth and build stronger community connections. Known for his passion and innovation, Kevon consistently drives impactful outreach efforts that create lasting, positive change for the individuals and families he serves.

Lisa Fogel's YMCA journey has always centered around family. Her mother served as the Youth Program Director at the Nazareth Branch for 28 years, and she began working alongside her in 2001 at summer camp. Over the years, she supported both after-kindergarten and afterschool programs, spending 15 years dedicated to SACC and camp at Nazareth. Her three children also grew up at the Y—first as campers and afterschool participants, and later as volunteers and staff members. In 2015, she played a key role in launching youth programs at the Slate Belt Branch, became Membership Director in 2017, and now proudly serves as the Branch Director.

Melanie Poirier’s journey with the YMCA began in her childhood, attending school age care and summer camp in North Jersey. She started her Y career in 2004 as a camp counselor at the Wyckoff Family YMCA and joined the Bethlehem Branch in 2018. Over the years, she has held many roles, including teacher, camp director, SACC supervisor, director of child development, and now serves as branch director. Melanie holds a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Scranton. Passionate about helping others find their place at the Y, she lives in Warren County, NJ with her husband.

Tami Unger joined the YMCA in 2016 as an Early Childhood Director and quickly expanded her leadership to include Camp, School-Age, and Food programs. She is passionate about building strong relationships with families and ensuring community needs are met through Y services. Now Branch Director at the Allentown Branch, Tami holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from East Stroudsburg University. She also serves as a Professional Development Specialist with the Council for Professional Recognition and volunteers with the Girl Scouts. Tami lives in Lehigh County with her husband, six children, three grandchildren, a dog, and a cat.

Diana Vargas-Pond began her YMCA journey in 2017 with the Stay and Play program, building strong connections with families. Her passion for wellness led her to become a Zumba instructor, energizing participants and organizing events at the Nazareth branch. She later transitioned into the membership department, advancing to Membership Coordinator and deepening member engagement. Her leadership and dedication earned her the role of Director of Operations, where she further strengthened programs and initiatives. In 2025, Diana was appointed Branch Director of the Nazareth YMCA. She continues to lead with passion and purpose. Diana lives in Nazareth with her husband and son.
