FAIRLESS HILLS - River Crossing YMCA has launched the Growing Together Campaign for the Improvement of Morrisville Early Learning Center at its Welcoming Week International community potluck event on Friday, September 19, at the Fairless Hills branch.

Over 100 YMCA members and guests were on hand to enjoy the Y’s annual Welcoming Week festivities and learn more about the campaign, which will raise the remaining funds necessary to expand child care, community connection and impact services like family feeding programs and workforce development in Morrisville.

The reimagined center in Morrisville, located at 200 N. Pennsylvania Ave., will provide an enhanced, updated center for early learners, infants through Pre-K, in a Lower Bucks community in need of affordable, high-quality child care. The new space will accommodate over 100 children, and the Y anticipates filling every seat. The Growing Together campaign will also support the expansion of the Morrisville feeding program, providing sustenance to children and families experiencing food insecurity. In 2024, River Crossing YMCA provided over 255,000 free meals and snacks to children and families throughout its service areas, including the Morrisville center, one of the Y’s largest feeding sites.

“The YMCA provides vital services to children and families in the Morrisville community,” explained Zane Moore, president/CEO of River Crossing YMCA. “We’ve seen incredible support for the Growing Together campaign because of the opportunities the new center will have for families, but we need the community to help us cross the finish line. Our goal is to build a hub not only for children to come and learn, but for families to access food and resources for improving their lives.”

To date, the Y has raised $5 million for the Growing Together campaign because of the generosity of lead donors who care deeply for the Y’s mission in Morrisville. The campaign was bolstered thanks to a $4 million Community Project Funding award during FY2023,  championed by U.S. Congressman Ryan Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and passed by the 117th U.S. Congress.

The public launch of the campaign on September 19 marks the Y’s appeal to the community to fulfill the remaining $350,000 required to achieve their funding goal.

"Penn Community Bank is proud to support the YMCA’s incredible work in Morrisville,” shared Bernard Tynes, EVP/chief consumer banking officer for Penn Community Bank. “By investing in child education, care, and workforce development, we are helping to bring community to the forefront in a powerful way. The new Workforce Development Center, which we are honored to

sponsor, will provide access to resources, technology, and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. This is exactly the kind of lasting impact we strive to create in the communities we serve.”

Along with expanded child care and feeding programs, the new center will feature the Workforce Development Center, a new computer lab and training center to provide job skills, GED prep and digital literacy, fostering adult education and economic independence necessary for success in today’s economy.

River Crossing YMCA participates in Welcoming Week celebrations every September throughout its branches and service areas. This year, the week culminated with international community potluck events on Friday, September 19, at the Fairless Hills, Bethlehem and Deer Path (Flemington, NJ) branches. Welcoming Week is an annual, week-long celebration of the Y’s welcoming of all people from throughout the communities it serves.
