Programs FAQ
Beginning September 8, 2026, most* River Crossing YMCA programs will be offered through a convenient monthly draft enrollment model. Designed to provide a consistent "school-year experience," participants can enjoy ongoing programming from September through May, with additional summer opportunities available from June through August.
When you enroll in an eligible program, your child's spot is reserved, allowing them to continue learning, growing, and progressing without the need to re-register each session. Families can enjoy the convenience of automatic monthly payments on the first day of each month while maintaining the flexibility to make changes if needed.
If your family's schedule changes, you may discontinue participation at any time by providing notice at least one week prior to the next monthly draft date.
*Monthly drafting does not apply to all programs. Seasonal programs, leagues, private lessons, specialty offerings, and certain one-time activities may require separate registration and fees. Program guides will clearly identify whether a program is offered as a "Member Monthly Draft" or "Member Flat Fee" program.
Our monthly program fees are thoughtfully structured with scheduled holiday closures already taken into account. Because these planned closures are built into the annual program calendar, monthly draft payments remain unchanged when the facility is closed for holidays or scheduled breaks.
For the 2026-2027 program closures dates can be found above, on this webpage.
Missed September Enrollment? You Can Register Anytime!
No problem! At River Crossing YMCA, you can register for most programs at any time throughout the year, as long as space is available. There's no need to wait for a new open enrollment timeframe—simply enroll when you're ready and be welcomed into the program!
For the latest program availability, registration opportunities, and updates, visit our website or contact our WOW Center Team. We're always happy to help you find the right program for you and your family.
Yes! One of the benefits of our monthly enrollment model is the convenience of maintaining your child's reserved spot throughout the school year. Once enrolled, your child will continue in the same class day and time without the need to register for a new session every few months. This consistency helps families establish routines and allows participants to build skills and confidence over time.
Summer programming will be offered separately, with registration opening in mid-April.
Our instructors and program directors continuously monitor participant progress to ensure each child is challenged, engaged, and placed in the level that best supports their development. When a participant is ready to advance, our staff will coordinate any necessary level changes and communicate with families throughout the process.
To help you celebrate and understand your child's achievements, progress updates and evaluations will be shared periodically throughout the year.
River Crossing YMCA is not responsible for weather and/or power related cancellations when the buildings are closed. Credits/refunds will not be provided. However, when inclement weather closures are frequent (example: in the event of a snowy winter), River Crossing YMCA staff will propose makeup sessions to the best of our ability to offset program time loss.
If the pool closes due to unforeseen circumstances affecting a swim lesson, River Crossing YMCA may need to shorten or cancel the lesson. Credits/refunds will not be provided.
As children grow and develop, they may become eligible for the next age group or program level. When this occurs, our experienced and caring staff will work closely with your family to determine the best next step based on your child's age, skills, and readiness.
Whenever possible, we will make every effort to keep your child participating on the same day and at the same time. In some cases, advancing to the next level may require a different class time or day, and our team will communicate all available options to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
We understand that schedules can change. If you would like to switch to a different class day, time, or program, our WOW Center Team is happy to help explore available options for the following month. Simply stop by or contact the Welcome Center to submit your request.
If you choose to discontinue participation, we kindly ask that cancellation requests be submitted at least one week prior to the next monthly draft date.
Please note that when a program spot is canceled, it becomes available for another participant. Should you wish to rejoin the program in the future, registration will be based on current availability.
The health and well-being of our participants is important to us. If your child is not feeling well, we encourage them to rest and recover before returning to class. Because program space is limited and staffing is scheduled based on enrollment, makeup sessions, credits, or refunds are generally not available for missed classes. However, when an absence is accompanied by a doctor's note, a makeup session may be arranged when possible.
Participant safety is always our top priority. In the event of a facility closure due to severe weather, power outages, or other circumstances beyond our control, credits or refunds will not be provided. However, if multiple closures occur over an extended period (such as during a particularly severe winter season), River Crossing YMCA staff will make every effort to offer makeup opportunities when feasible.
Occasionally, unexpected situations may require the pool to close temporarily, which could result in a swim lesson being shortened or canceled. While credits and refunds are not available for these unforeseen interruptions, our team will work diligently to minimize disruptions and continue providing a positive swim lesson experience whenever possible.
Programs highlighted in gray were full at the time the program guide was published. As schedules and enrollment change, spaces may become available throughout the year.
If your preferred class is full, we encourage you to explore other available days or times that may work for your family before joining the waitlist. Placement on a waitlist does not guarantee that a spot will become available, but it does help us understand community interest and demand.
Waitlists help us gauge interest in popular programs and identify opportunities for additional classes when staffing and space allow. If a spot becomes available, participants on the waitlist will be contacted and offered enrollment before the program is opened to the general community.
To keep waitlists current, participants will remain on a waitlist for approximately two months. At the start of each open enrollment period, waitlists are reset. Families who would like to continue waiting for a program after that time are welcome to join the waitlist again.
We appreciate your patience and interest, and we'll do our best to help connect your family with the programs that fit your needs.
