River Crossing YMCA offers before and after school care for children through 5th grade in Allentown. Our program fosters cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth through engaging activities aligned with PA Early Learning Standards.
Bussed to and from the following Allentown School District schools:
- Jackson Elementary
- Lehigh Parkway Elementary
- Ramos Elementary
- Union Terrace Elementary
Program Offerings
Before & After School Care
On-site before and after school care includes youth programs, healthy snacks, homework time, and physical activity.
Hours:
Before care: 6:30 AM – school start
After care: School dismissal – 6 PM
All-Inclusive Care
All-Inclusive Care covers before and after school, half days, and most full days off for one monthly price.
Day Off School Camp
Kids enjoy art, music, sports, games, and swimming (where available) on scheduled school days off.
2026/2027 Monthly Rates
We offer convenient monthly rates for before and after school child care, providing quality care at an affordable cost for your family. Financial Assistance is available.

The curriculum follows PA Early Learning Standards and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) supporting growth and development of youth in seven key learning areas: Literacy, Science, Math/Problem Solving, Arts, Social Competence, Fitness/Nutrition, and Technology. This curriculum supports a unique learning environment that stimulates a child's curiosity while reinforcing essential academic standards.

Our Before & After School Program provides a safe, supportive, and engaging space where children can thrive before the school day begins and after it ends. Students enjoy healthy snacks, dedicated homework time, and meaningful social and emotional connections with friends and caring staff. Through exciting hands-on activities, including STEM exploration, creative arts, fitness, and collaborative play, children build confidence, curiosity, and essential life skills.
