Meet Janine Brown: Guiding Gymnasts and Building Community at Quakertown YMCA
Janine Brown, Senior Gymnastics Director at the Quakertown YMCA, has dedicated her career to coaching, instructing, and inspiring young gymnasts. From managing the competitive team of 80 children to hosting local competitions, Janine’s passion for gymnastics is evident in every class and practice she leads.
A gymnast in her own youth, Janine first discovered the YMCA when a friend introduced her to teaching. Since then, she has become a cornerstone of the gymnastics program, welcoming alumni back to practices, hearing updates on their lives, and celebrating milestones with families. Many of her students, now graduating, have been under her guidance since they were just three years old—a journey that Janine describes as “very fulfilling.”
For Janine, the Y is more than a gym or a program—it’s the glue that holds the community together. She sees the YMCA as a hub where friendships are formed, values are nurtured, and generations come together to learn, grow, and connect. Her work is a living example of how the Y strengthens not just young athletes, but the entire community.
