DOYLESTOWN - River Crossing YMCA hosted nearly 500 children and their families at the 15th Annual YMCA Kids Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 10. The event attracted well over 1,100 attendees to the annual swim, bike and run event for children ages three-15 years old. Courses were configured to the six-15-year-old age groups, and a special “WeeBees” course provided for three to five-year olds to compete while accompanied by an adult.

River Crossing YMCA’s annual Kids Triathlon brings children and families together from throughout Bucks County, as well as surrounding areas, with some families coming from out of state to participate in this event that celebrates the health of the community. The Kids Tri motto “Compete to Complete” honors the preparation, commitment and accomplishment of all participants, with each participant receiving a commemorative medal for completing their course.

“Our Kids Tri is a very popular event in this community because we take special care to make sure that each child has a rewarding experience,” explained Nicole Bandura, senior director of facilities and risk management for River Crossing YMCA and organizer of the event this year. “Families and friends come out to cheer them on, and the kids have a blast competing and celebrating their accomplishments.”

The 2025 River Crossing YMCA Kids Triathlon was made possible by sponsors and partners USA Triathlon, Ivy Rehab for Kids, Circle Speech, Bike Works, Indian Valley Braces, Renewal by Anderson, Dunkin, GMG Insurance and Antheil Maslow & MacMinn, LLP. All proceeds raised by the event support River Crossing YMCA’s community impact and financial assistance programs, which allow families access to programs they would otherwise not be able to afford, as well as the Y’s free community health and wellness Pathway programs.
