No matter your age or fitness level, adding walking to your daily routine can boost your physical and mental health. Just 10 minutes of walking can lift your mood—and fall is the perfect season to enjoy the crisp air and beautiful scenery.
Whether you enjoy peaceful solo walks, strolling with friends, or bringing the whole family along, there’s no wrong way to join this challenge. Lace up your sneakers and get moving!
Challenge Goal
Track 100 miles over four weeks (about 3.5 miles or 8,000 steps per day) in the River Crossing YMCA app to build a regular walking habit.
Mileage is capped at 7 miles per day for the challenge.

Go to the Challenges tile
Select Move More. Stress Less Challenge
Tap Join Challenge

Sync Your Wearables
Make tracking easy by linking your favorite device:
Fitbit, MyZone, Garmin, Runkeeper sync directly with the Y app.
Apple Health users:
Open the River Crossing YMCA App
Tap Connected Apps → Connect → Apple Health
In Apple Health, tap Turn All On to sync
If syncing doesn’t work, try xCapture:
Open the Y app → Workouts → Quick Actions → Take xCapture
Open your Apple Watch workout (showing time, calories, distance)
Snap a photo
Allow 24 hours for the workout to post in the Y app
